The holidays can bring warmth and wonder—but also grief.
For some, it’s a quiet ache. For others, it’s a storm.
You might be grieving:
A loved one who passed
A relationship that changed
A version of yourself you’ve outgrown
Traditions that no longer fit your life
Grief doesn’t disappear because the calendar says “celebrate.”
How to Honor Grief in December:
Light a candle for who (or what) you’re missing
Speak their name or memory aloud—privately or with others
Let go of “shoulds.” You don’t need to “be okay” by now
Give yourself permission to cry, laugh, or not attend at all
You are allowed to grieve, even when others are celebrating.
You are allowed to feel joy and sorrow in the same breath.
You are allowed to survive this season your way.
