What is IS-ART?
Integrative Systemic Art Therapy (IS-ART) is a gentle, creative approach to healing that combines art therapy and systemic counselling.
It’s built on a simple but powerful truth:
we don’t live in isolation — we live within systems — families, communities, cultures, workplaces — and these systems shape how we think, feel, and relate to others.
Through creative expression and guided systemic reflection, IS-ART helps you see those patterns clearly… and change them.
You don’t need to be “good at art.”
The process isn’t about making something pretty — it’s about discovering meaning through paint, colour, texture, movement, and story.
It’s a space where images become language, and creativity becomes a path to peace.
How IS-ART Works
-
Connect – We begin by exploring what brings you here: what’s happening in your life, your relationships, and the systems you’re part of.
-
Create – You’ll be guided to express emotions and experiences through creative materials like drawing, collage, or painting.
-
Reflect – Together, we explore what your artwork reveals — the connections, patterns, and possibilities within your story.
-
Transform – As you work with your art, your brain and body begin to reframe old images, opening space for healing, growth, and relief.
Every session is structured yet fluid — balancing art-making, conversation, and reflection.
For many, the process feels both grounding and freeing.
Why IS-ART?
Some experiences live beyond words.
Grief. Trauma. Burnout. Family conflict.
When talking alone can’t reach the deeper layers, art can.
IS-ART helps you:
-
Release emotion safely and creatively
-
See patterns and roles in relationships more clearly
-
Reconnect to your own sense of agency
-
Integrate insights from both the emotional and systemic levels
-
Build new ways of relating — to yourself, others, and your environment
Because IS-ART is integrative, it draws from multiple disciplines — counselling, neuroscience, art therapy, and systemic family therapy — creating a holistic path toward sustainable change.
Who It Helps
IS-ART can benefit individuals, couples, and families of all ages — especially when:
-
You feel stuck or disconnected
-
You’re processing trauma, loss, or major life transitions
-
Communication within relationships feels difficult
-
You’ve tried talk therapy but want something more experiential
-
You’re supporting a child or teen who struggles to express feelings
At Bring2Life, IS-ART is also available through our community outreach programs and mobile counselling services, making it accessible to individuals and families across Yorkton and surrounding area.
