Preventive mental health care is like brushing your teeth—a daily act that keeps long-term issues at bay. Yet, many people wait until they’re overwhelmed, anxious, or in crisis before seeking help.

Why We Wait:

  • Stigma

  • Time or cost barriers

  • Belief that we must be “sick enough” to deserve help

Why Prevention Matters:

  • Identifies patterns early

  • Builds resilience

  • Improves emotional regulation

  • Reduces long-term health risks

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to ask for support. In fact, learning to check in with yourself regularly can prevent deeper issues from developing.

Create a mental wellness routine:

  • Reflect daily or weekly

  • Practice mindfulness or journaling

  • Talk with a friend or mentor

  • Seek professional support proactively

Prevention is power.
